We have for many years prepared and prosecuted trademark applications in the United States and in countries around the world. Our clients typically invest substantial time, money, and effort in developing brands, logos, and marks that identify their goods and/or services in the marketplace. At our client’s direction, we can begin the registration process in the United States by applying and filing for federal trademark protection, and if desired, by filing for international or non-domestic trademark protection as well. 

Sometimes conflicting marks may be identified during the examination process or during normal commercial activity. It may be necessary to oppose or cancel a similar mark if priority to the mark can be shown by the applicant or owner of the mark. In that case, we are experienced in opposition and cancellation proceedings, which can lead to resolution of the conflict.   

In certain circumstances, should federal registration not be available we also advise on state and common law rights that our clients may enjoy relative to their trademarks or service-marks.
