Licensing agreements transfer a portion of the owner's rights to the intellectual property for a royalty and/or up-front payment based on sales of the intellectual property.

Assignments document a direct transfer or ownership from the owner of the intellectual property to a buyer. Oftentimes these may be recorded in the USPTO data base, for example, for confirmation of the ownership transfer. Our patent attorney can assist you with this. 

Non-disclosure agreements (NDA) guarantee the confidentiality of the subject(s) disclosure between parties. Those who are interested in protecting the confidentiality of the subject matter while disclosing certain sensitive or confidential information to another party, without making the information public, will employ an NDA.
